THEME FOR THE MONTH: His Divine Presence
TODAY’S TOPIC: Accessing His Presence
KEY TEXT: Gen. 39:1-23
KEY VERSE: Gen. 39:2a
“And the LORD was with Joseph, and he was a prosperous man”

Over the weeks, we have looked into the goodies attached to being with God. Those are the very little we can behold. However, there is much more. “But as it is written, Eye hath not seen, nor ear heard, neither have entered into the heart of man, the things which God hath prepared for them that love him.” — 1Cor. 2:9. The bounties that follow the presence are numerous to mention, and overwhelming to understand.

Today, however, we look at ways we can get this Presence. No result just comes; results are provoked. How do we provoke the release of Divine Presence?

Many young people deliberately shut the door of their hearts to Christ. This is because they think being a Christian is boring. They are attracted to all the fun-promising things of life. However, Christianity does not stop fun; it only channels it rightly. Wouldn’t you enjoy getting first-hand secrets about your life and that of others from God Himself? How do you like to be guaranteed 100% protection? All you need to do is open up and let God. Christianity is NOT a call to suffering; it is a call to sonship. God really wants to care for you. However, He cannot. Why? Because family benefits are only enjoyed by family members. To enjoy the benefits we have seen, you must be a family member (Jn. 1:12). You should… You have to be saved. And if you want to, right now is the time (2Cor. 6:2).

Pray the prayer of salvation now before you continue studying. Ask God to forgive you of your sins. Ask Jesus to come into your life and take total control. Ask Him to be your personal Saviour and Lord.

You would do almost for the sake of love. Unfortunately, however, young people have decided to love the wrong things. That is why you see them going the extra mile just to get the satisfaction they think they deserve. On the other hand, anyone who loves God will always want to follow Him, be with Him, and please Him. Your love for God will make you:

  • a. Listen to Him and obey Him always. You would not want to disobey God, if you love Him. You would always want to hear His voice. You would listen to everything He says and do them. One way to listen to God is by reading His word (The Bible) daily.
    – Jn. 14:23; Josh. 1:8; Ps. 1:2, 119:11
  • b. Talk to Him always. If you love God, you will always want to talk to Him. You would share with Him your pains and success stories. You would seek advice, direction and support from Him whenever you are confused. You would pray.
    – Jer. 33:3; Jer. 29:12; Lk. 11:9-10; Ps. 145:18

Isa. 45:22; Heb. 11:6; Jn. 14:6; Jer. 33:3; Acts 2:21; Isa. 65:24

Everyone should come next Sunday with their I.E notebook.

1. Thank God for His word
2. Thank God sincerely for the privilege of His Presence
3. Confess any known and unknown sin to God now. Ask Him to forgive you and show you His mercy
4. Ask for grace to remain in God’s presence always.
5. Bless your week.

TODAY’S TOPIC: Features of The Secret Place (Part 2)
KEY TEXT: Ps. 91:1-16
KEY VERSE: Ps. 91:1
“He that dwelleth in the secret place of the most High shall abide under the shadow of the Almighty”

Last week, we started out by looking at the features of the Secret Place. By the Sure Mercies of God, we attempt to explore further features of this place. It is therefore a necessity to carefully note down and apply these spiritual nuggets, even as we trust God’s support to make them work in us.

People WORK their way into the Secret Place. You must deliberately—and consciously—enter this Place. You do not wish it. You desire it, and then, go for it! Wishes are lame without action. You must give away so many things, among which are: some habits, some pleasures, some friends, some gains, and some comforts. There are some things that you must let go of, in order to enter this Place. This Place is one of very high altitude. Therefore, to be able to go there, you must drop some things behind.
If you want to fly high, you must fly light!
(Matt. 6:33; Matt. 13:44-46; Matt. 5:6; Matt. 10:37-38; Phil. 3:7-8)

Every Christian is a child of God no doubt. Everyone that calls on the Name of Jesus shall be saved. Nevertheless, have you noticed that some people get their answers faster than others do? The Bible records people like such. God answered Daniel the very first day he prayed (Dan. 10:12). David never lacked answers—even when sometimes God’s answer to him was not what he wanted. God always answered him. Jesus Himself confessed—before the tomb of Lazarus—that God always answered Him (John 11:41-42). For the sake of Paul, God spared a ship that was going to capsize (Acts 27:22-25). People here are closer to God. They are in His radar of divine protection.
(Ps. 91:16; Zech. 2:8; Ps. 92:13-14; Isaiah 54:15; Prov. 21:18; Isaiah 43:1-7)

1. According to Psalms 91, each Codite will audibly give one benefit that the Secret Place confers on its dwellers.

1. Thank God for giving us His word.
2. Earnestly pray that God separates from us (Codites) any distraction (in form of human or thing) that will hinder our relationship with Him.
3. Pray for all Codites who are away from Masaka. Ask for God’s protection and guidance upon them.
4. Pray for our Students. Ask for an increase in the measure of excellence.
5. Pray against any evil report in the lives or families of any Codite.
6. Pray for God’s covering and guidance over our spiritual father (Pst. Joel Nwachukwu).

TOPIC: There is a Secret Place!
KEY TEXT: Ps. 91:1-16
KEY VERSE: Ps. 91:1
“He that dwelleth in the secret place of the most High shall abide under the shadow of the Almighty”

Places abound, and they abound in degrees or categories. The presidential house of Nigeria is called Aso Rock. The White House, however, is seen as the presidential house of the United States of America. Now, no man needs to tell you that there are big differences between these two places! There are differences in terms of beauty, security, prosperity, maintenance, attraction, etc…Differences—huge differences—just exist. Why are they different? This is because every place has its own pace (rate of progression). You cannot compare the economy of Japan with the economy of Gabon, for instance. This is because one of those two places is bigger! In the Kingdom of Heaven, places abound too! Also important of note, not all places here are the same. This we shall consider in our lesson today…

Consider our key text and understand the following:

1. If there is a SECRET PLACE of the Most High, then there are “other places” of the Most High.
This is when we come BEFORE the Lord. Sometimes we approach these places when we do our usual worship, prayer, offerings and praise. In Leviticus, this ordinary place is figuratively called, “door”. That word in Hebrew is “peh’-thakh”, which translates to mean: gate, door, entrance, opening or place. Other places the Bibles talked about this ordinary realm, it used words like “Outer Court”, “Without”, “Outside”.
(Micah 6:6; Lev. 15:14; Ezk. 10:5)

2. There is indeed a SECRET PLACE.
The Bible has other names for this place. In some cases, Scriptures call it “High Place”, “Holy Place”, “Holy Hill”, “Hill of God”, “Inner Courts”, etc. It is not any other place. It is a secluded place. It occupies a higher realm. This place is real, but it is not ordinary.
(Num. 23:3; 1Sam. 9:14; 1Kings 3:4; Ps. 24:3; Ps. 46:4; Isa. 57:15)

3. The SECRET place is HABITABLE.
Our key verse says, “He that dwelleth…” It means therefore, that someone can reside there. It can be found. It is a habitat (natural home of someone or something). It can be visited often; but it can also be occupied permanently.
(Ps. 91:9; Ps. 71:3; Ps. 90:1; Ps. 15:1; Ps. 61:4; John 15:4; Ps. 23:6; Ps. 65:4)

1. Study through Psalms 91

1. Thank God for His Word.
2. Ask that the Holy Spirit continue to interpret this word to you.
3. Ask that the Lord lead you to find this Secret Place, and to dwell therein.
4. Pray for all Codites and ask for God’s blessing upon them and their families.
5. Pray for Codites who are preparing for exams (using V.I.C as a point of contact). Ask for excellence after the order of Daniel.
6. Pray against any form of evil this month. Cover yourself and all your family members with The Blood.
7. Pray for indescribable favours from God this month.
8. Pray for an increase in the spiritual growth of Codites.
9. Pray for all those born in the month of July (using Bona V as a point of contact to those who are not around).
10. Pray as led for Nigeria.
