GOD IS THERE!!!

A father takes his son into the forest, blindfolds him and leaves him alone. He is required to sit on a stump the whole night and not remove the blindfold until the rays of the morning sun shine through it. He cannot cry out for help to anyone.

Once he survives the night, he is a MAN. He cannot tell the other boys of this experience, because each lad must come into manhood on his own.

The boy is naturally terrified. He can hear all kinds of noises. Wild beasts must surely be all around him. Perhaps even some human might do him harm. The wind blew the grass and trees and shook his stump, but he sat stoically, never removing the blindfold. It would be the only way he could become a man!

Finally, after a horrific night the sun appeared and he removed his blindfold. It was then that he discovered his father sitting on the stump next to him. He had been at watch the entire night, protecting his son from harm. We, too, are never alone. Even when we don’t know it, God is watching over us, sitting on the stump beside us. When trouble comes, all we have to do is reach out to Him.

Moral of the story:
Just because you can’t see God, doesn’t mean He is not there.”For we walk by faith, not just by sight”.

Do have a splendid weekend!

THEME FOR THE MONTH: The Secret Place
TODAY’S TOPIC: 2 Chronic Habits of Dwellers
KEY TEXT: Ps. 91:1-16
KEY VERSE: Ps. 91:1
“He that dwelleth in the secret place of the most High shall abide under the shadow of the Almighty”

INTRODUCTION
In the past two weeks, God has helped us with the attributes of this Secret Place. The belief is that we have taken note of the things that God has been revealing. Today, however, we shall get an insight into two most popular habits of those who dwell in the Secret Place. We trust the Holy Spirit’s guidance in unveiling these to us.

1. DWELLERS LOVE GOD!
Anyone that enjoys the close protection and rare blessings of God is a lover. We have seen in Scriptures that those who “dwell” are always priority with God. In John 14:21, it was clear that Jesus will only manifest Himself to those who love Him. What really is love? The Oxford Dictionary simple defines it this way: deep affection or fondness. When someone loves God, they become engrossed in His Person and His service.
All dwellers are lovers of God!
(Mark 12:30; John 16:17; Deut. 10:12; Rom. 8:28)

2. DWELLERS TRUST GOD!
The virtue of trust is indeed a sacred one; it can only be given and grown by God Himself. According to Oxford, trust is a firm belief in the reliability, truth, or strength etc. of a person or thing. Trust is most times the real proof of love. Most people tend to love God only when things are right and cosy. Immediately they notice any little challenge, they begin to doubt. A dweller is not like that. This is because he proves his love by trusting. Trust is what makes you stick to God and His promises, even when it seems like He is not gonna show up! This was clearly proved by the three Hebrew boys, in their speech to King Nebuchadnezzar in Dan. 3:16-18.
(Ps. 91:2; Isaiah 26:3-4; Ps. 112:7)

THEME FOR THE MONTH: The Secret Place
TODAY’S TOPIC: Features of The Secret Place (Part 2)
KEY TEXT: Ps. 91:1-16
KEY VERSE: Ps. 91:1
“He that dwelleth in the secret place of the most High shall abide under the shadow of the Almighty”

INTRODUCTION
Last week, we started out by looking at the features of the Secret Place. By the Sure Mercies of God, we attempt to explore further features of this place. It is therefore a necessity to carefully note down and apply these spiritual nuggets, even as we trust God’s support to make them work in us.

4. SALVATION IS FREE, BUT A SLOT IN THE SECRET PLACE IS NOT!
People WORK their way into the Secret Place. You must deliberately—and consciously—enter this Place. You do not wish it. You desire it, and then, go for it! Wishes are lame without action. You must give away so many things, among which are: some habits, some pleasures, some friends, some gains, and some comforts. There are some things that you must let go of, in order to enter this Place. This Place is one of very high altitude. Therefore, to be able to go there, you must drop some things behind.
If you want to fly high, you must fly light!
(Matt. 6:33; Matt. 13:44-46; Matt. 5:6; Matt. 10:37-38; Phil. 3:7-8)

5. PEOPLE IN THE SECRET PLACE ARE GOD’S PRIORITY!
Every Christian is a child of God no doubt. Everyone that calls on the Name of Jesus shall be saved. Nevertheless, have you noticed that some people get their answers faster than others do? The Bible records people like such. God answered Daniel the very first day he prayed (Dan. 10:12). David never lacked answers—even when sometimes God’s answer to him was not what he wanted. God always answered him. Jesus Himself confessed—before the tomb of Lazarus—that God always answered Him (John 11:41-42). For the sake of Paul, God spared a ship that was going to capsize (Acts 27:22-25). People here are closer to God. They are in His radar of divine protection.
(Ps. 91:16; Zech. 2:8; Ps. 92:13-14; Isaiah 54:15; Prov. 21:18; Isaiah 43:1-7)

theTASK:
1. According to Psalms 91, each Codite will audibly give one benefit that the Secret Place confers on its dwellers.

PRAYERS:
1. Thank God for giving us His word.
2. Earnestly pray that God separates from us (Codites) any distraction (in form of human or thing) that will hinder our relationship with Him.
3. Pray for all Codites who are away from Masaka. Ask for God’s protection and guidance upon them.
4. Pray for our Students. Ask for an increase in the measure of excellence.
5. Pray against any evil report in the lives or families of any Codite.
6. Pray for God’s covering and guidance over our spiritual father (Pst. Joel Nwachukwu).

KEY TEXT: Ps. 91:1-16

“He that dwelleth in the secret place of the most High shall abide under the shadow of the Almighty”

INTRODUCTION
We are once again welcome to another time in God’s Presence. We trust God to make available His Presence today, growing and teaching us.

Last week, we looked at the reality of a Secret Place in this Kingdom. We saw that this place exists and can be inhabited. Today, by the mercies of God, we attempt to look at the characteristics of this Place. There are certain things we must know about this place. These things are what we trust God to unravel to us today. The average Christian who hungers and thirsts after God, when he has noted and applied these things, can fulfil His desire of a filling with and by Christ.

FEATURES OF THE SECRET PLACE
Here are the things that we should understand about the secret place.

1. THE SECRET PLACE IS NOT OCCUPIED BY EVERYBODY!
Everyone desires a spot in this place, but not everyone gets this spot. This place is not for everybody. This place is not just for praise-givers; it is for worshippers, it is for lovers! Are you not surprised that the Scriptures say, “He who dwells”. It is not a general thing. Notice how the verses below place emphasis on those selected persons we dare to dwell.
(Ps. 15:1-2; Ps. 84:4; Ps. 92:1; Ps. 1:1-2)

2. BUT THE SECRET PLACE IS OPEN TO ANYONE!
Yes. This Place is open to anyone who dares to dwell. A slot in this Place is not common. It is something to be pressed for. Just anyone who wants MORE can get to this place. These songwriters explain a pinch of this kind of hunger for more in their songs:
Vedo, in I Just Want You; Micah Stampley, in Desperate People; Sinach, in I Want More Of You; etc.
This Bible verses further confirm that only those who press are those who get:
(Ps. 63:1-2; Ps. 42:1-2; Ps. 84:2; Ps. 107:9; Matt. 5:6; Isa. 44:3; Isa. 55:1-3; Jn. 7:37)

3. IN THIS PLACE, DURATION MATTER!
When we started this lesson a week ago, we had an illustration in which a picture of two presidential houses was displayed. Now, supposing two persons went on a vacation to the White House. One spends three days, and the other spends three weeks. Who do you think will be more likely to appear fatter and fairer? Good guess! Now, who do you think will get more rhema from God, he who stays in the Secret Place for a week or he who stays there for a month?
Scriptures say, “he who dwells”. The word, “dwell” is gotten from the Hebrew word, “yâshab”, which translates to: to remain, to endure, to continue. The Secret Place is NOT for visitors; it is for dwellers!
Note the emphasis that these Scriptural texts place on duration. Watch out for the word, “daily”.
(Ps. 25:5; Ps. 86:3; Ps. 119:97; Prov. 8:34; Prov. 23:17; Josh. 1:8)

theTASK:
1. According to Psalms 84:2, one would have reached the apex of a hunger for God when three realms of his being show this hunger. What are these three realms of a human being?

PRAYERS:
1. Thank God for His word.
2. Earnestly pray that God gives us (Codites) a hunger for Him.
3. Pray for God’s direction and support upon the leadership of COD.

THEME FOR THE MONTH: The Secret Place
TOPIC: There is a Secret Place!
KEY TEXT: Ps. 91:1-16
KEY VERSE: Ps. 91:1
“He that dwelleth in the secret place of the most High shall abide under the shadow of the Almighty”

INTRODUCTION
Places abound, and they abound in degrees or categories. The presidential house of Nigeria is called Aso Rock. The White House, however, is seen as the presidential house of the United States of America. Now, no man needs to tell you that there are big differences between these two places! There are differences in terms of beauty, security, prosperity, maintenance, attraction, etc…Differences—huge differences—just exist. Why are they different? This is because every place has its own pace (rate of progression). You cannot compare the economy of Japan with the economy of Gabon, for instance. This is because one of those two places is bigger! In the Kingdom of Heaven, places abound too! Also important of note, not all places here are the same. This we shall consider in our lesson today…

THERE IS A SECRET PLACE
Consider our key text and understand the following:

1. If there is a SECRET PLACE of the Most High, then there are “other places” of the Most High.
This is when we come BEFORE the Lord. Sometimes we approach these places when we do our usual worship, prayer, offerings and praise. In Leviticus, this ordinary place is figuratively called, “door”. That word in Hebrew is “peh’-thakh”, which translates to mean: gate, door, entrance, opening or place. Other places the Bibles talked about this ordinary realm, it used words like “Outer Court”, “Without”, “Outside”.
(Micah 6:6; Lev. 15:14; Ezk. 10:5)

2. There is indeed a SECRET PLACE.
The Bible has other names for this place. In some cases, Scriptures call it “High Place”, “Holy Place”, “Holy Hill”, “Hill of God”, “Inner Courts”, etc. It is not any other place. It is a secluded place. It occupies a higher realm. This place is real, but it is not ordinary.
(Num. 23:3; 1Sam. 9:14; 1Kings 3:4; Ps. 24:3; Ps. 46:4; Isa. 57:15)

3. The SECRET place is HABITABLE.
Our key verse says, “He that dwelleth…” It means therefore, that someone can reside there. It can be found. It is a habitat (natural home of someone or something). It can be visited often; but it can also be occupied permanently.
(Ps. 91:9; Ps. 71:3; Ps. 90:1; Ps. 15:1; Ps. 61:4; John 15:4; Ps. 23:6; Ps. 65:4)

theTASK:
1. Study through Psalms 91

PRAYERS:
1. Thank God for His Word.
2. Ask that the Holy Spirit continue to interpret this word to you.
3. Ask that the Lord lead you to find this Secret Place, and to dwell therein.
4. Pray for all Codites and ask for God’s blessing upon them and their families.
5. Pray for Codites who are preparing for exams (using V.I.C as a point of contact). Ask for excellence after the order of Daniel.
6. Pray against any form of evil this month. Cover yourself and all your family members with The Blood.
7. Pray for indescribable favours from God this month.
8. Pray for an increase in the spiritual growth of Codites.
9. Pray for all those born in the month of July (using Bona V as a point of contact to those who are not around).
10. Pray as led for Nigeria.

UNVEILING THE BIBLICAL PACKAGE: July, 2015

UNVEILING THE BIBLICAL PACKAGE

Sunday, 05 July 2015

Covenant New Month greetings to all Codites in the Name of our Lord and King, Jesus Christ. We trust that the victories of God—that He has worked in our lives these past six months—no force will quench in Jesus’ Name.

Throughout the months of May and June this year, we were favoured enough to have God teach us the mysteries about the Name of Jesus. The testimonies that did abound from that lesson are proof that God always speaks to His people. Question, however, is, do they always long to hear Him? It is believed that we have put to use the lessons we received during these two months. Remember, the fruits do not come until you practise!

Nevertheless, what has God to teach us this July?
All over Scriptures, we have record of names of men and women who did extraordinary things for God and their lands. We read daily of the Apostles, and we refer to them as saints. Our pastors and preachers in our churches are role models no doubt, and we see them as heroes of faith too.

The problem, however is that we see some of these people (both of Bible times and of present times) as infallible, extraordinary men and women. We think they are some special breed kind of persons. That view is myopic. James told us that Elijah was a man of like passion like we all. Yet he did the unusual. In Acts 14, from verse 11, people saw Paul and Barnabas as gods, because of what God did through them. However, in verse 15, Paul and Barnabas responded, “Why do ye these things? We also are men of like passions with you”.

You see, anyone—just anyone can be like them. All that is needed is a little pressing into a higher level. That level is different from other levels and is called THE SECRET PLACE. In Psalms 91:1, Scriptures declared, “He that dwelleth in the secret place of the Most High shall abide under the shadow of the Almighty”. There are places. And yes, there is a SECRET PLACE. Very few people occupy this hidden place.

It is in view of this light that our FOCUS for this month which serves as our VIEWPOINTS THEME FOR THE MONTH becomes:

THE SECRET PLACE

Our key text for our study this month of July is Psalms 91. The central verse is Psalms 91:1. This will be our focus for the month as we set ourselves up for the new realms of spiritual growth. All Codites should be prepared for a turnaround by the word. The selected Tasks and Prayers should be taken seriously. We trust God to be true to His promise of visiting us again this month.

God bless you all.
